Clinical Research Unit

Clinical Research Unit

The Clinical Research Center for Hair and Skin Science (CRC) at the Department of Dermatology and Allergy of the Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin was founded by Prof. Dr. Ulrike Blume-Peytavi in 2002. The CRC consists of three units: clinical research, experimental research and outpatient care, enabling to position translational research side by side and to combine them in research practice in a unique manner.

At the Clinical Research Unit we are specialized in planning and conducting GCP-based phase I to III drug and cosmetic studies as well as observational, instrument- and model development studies.

The unique concept of linking experimental research closely to basic clinical research enables us to directly transfer the most up to date research findings into practical application in proof of concept studies. Our center of excellence is DIN ISO 9001 certified and the clinical studies are conducted according to highest scientific and ethical principles.

We dispose well established methodologies, technologies and knowledge in the clinical investigation on skin physiology, anti-ageing, wound healing, hair growth, psoriasis, acne, rosacea and skin barrier disruption disorders. Research is our passion and thus we are dedicated to continuously develop innovative modern dermatotherapeutic concepts for all age groups.
